Our Story...

New Baby Bundles, Inc. grew from a conversation among three grandmothers serving dinner at a homeless shelter in Brockton.  Learning of the plight of homeless pregnant women, they recalled the maternal joy of their own baby showers and the baby showers for their grandchildren, often leaving the showers with carloads of presents. The founding members who have a total of 29 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also thought these homeless women should have the gift of a mini-shower layette for their babies, and the idea of New Baby Bundles, Inc. was born.

According to founding president, Jean Tilden, whether babies are going back to the shelter with their mothers, going into foster care, or being adopted, they deserve to arrive with something more than a hospital provided blanket.  New Baby Bundles provide more than physical clothing.  They provide a sharing and a caring.  The pregnant women know that someone knows and cares that they are about to give birth. The Bundles carry that unconditional grandmotherly love and provides homeless mothers a little dignity to arrive at the hospital with clothes and personal care items for their babies. Every new baby deserves a new beginning.

These grandmothers have been buying these items and delivering baby bundles to five shelters, but the increased need for the bundles requires more assistance.   The goal is to provide New Baby Bundles for all newborns in homeless shelters in Massachusetts and eventually expand to other East Coast locations.
